So besides spending every weekend playing, we all have bike & car projects on the go. I guess Lou and Cam are too embarrassed to send me photo's to post of their car projects, so I'll just post mine. This vintage touring model was the king of the highway in 1973, and was the same model used in the picture Electraglide in Blue. I was hosting a bbq last year when a friend mentioned that a co-worker had two bike in storage left to him by his brother who had passed away awhile back. Another of his co-worker heard the story a week prior and offered to buy them both. I phoned and told the guy I was real interested in the FLH, and seeing how no money had changed hands yet, he ought to sell it to me. So he calls the first guy and says "deal or forfeit". This guy goes to check them out at a storage rental place to make the deal, and tries to kick them both over. Now as they were in storage for a very long time and the old shovelheads tend to clog up in the oil pump when sitting, this guy gives it a kick and oil spews out of the bottom like the Valdez. He quickly passes on the FLH and takes the other. The restoration started when my good friend Trevor Butler offered to help rewire the beast. He noted that it needed a lot more help than a wire job so down to the frame, and back up with a lot of new parts, new paint, and many beers later here it is!Trevor is a wizzard at building bikes, and has the trophys to prove it. Were soon going to have a web site up for him so check out the link
